Presentation Day - Saturday 22nd June

Presentation day will soon be here. The event opens at midday and you can stay until late. Please check with your team coach for the time of your presentation slot.

The Double Decker Bus bar returns and will be open from 12:00. Please do not bring your own alcohol - we will be in breach of licence, could be prosecuted and we risk the event being shut down. We have negotiated reduced prices with the bar.

Raffle - This year's main prize is a trip for a whole team to St. George's Park - the FA's national football centre. The prize includes a tour of the facility and a bespoke football training session with an FA licensed coach. Other prizes include a £100 cash prize, a 4-ball at Warrington Golf Club and meal for 4 at the Thorn Inn.

Auction - We will auction a Liverpool shirt, with a certificate of authenticity, signed by this seasons Champions League winners squad - including Salah, Mane and Virgil. We also have a signed Warrington Wolves Ball.

We need Cakes - for the cake stall - please bring them on the day.

Food stalls open all afternoon including burgers, pizzas, crepes and ice cream

Fun activities: Zorbs, Beat the Goalie, Fastest Shot

Touchline, our kit supplier, will be in attendance, from 12:30 pm, so that players can try on the kit for teams moving up to U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17. Please place all orders through your team manager. There are also shop items available to view on the day. All orders are processed through our club shop or managers shop.

More volunteers are also needed to help set up and pack up.

Thanks for all the offers of help so far.

Committee Changes

At our recent AGM we voted in a new committee. Brian Williams, our chair since 2014 decided that it was time for him to step down. When he started as chair we had 33 teams, and the club was called Appleton Boys AFC.

He leaves the club with us expecting to enter 48 teams into leagues next year, including 10 girls teams, making us the largest youth football club in Cheshire.

On top of that, we are looking forward to the Broomfield's leisure centre all weather pitch being upgraded to a new FIFA standard 3G pitch over the summer.

Brian has coached since his eldest was in the academy and will finish with the U18s next season. Everyone at the club thanks him for all his efforts for the club over the last decade.

The new committee is:

  • Richard Hartland - Chair
  • Tony Little - Vice Chair
  • Anabel Kingshott - Treasurer
  • Steve McAlley - Secretary
  • Christine Bell - Child Welfare Officer
  • Kate Little - Head of Girls
  • Mark Bellers - Training Officer
  • Iain Hill - Fixtures and Pitches
  • Mark Collins - Kit and Equipment

Girls & Ladies Football

Football for girls and ladies continues to go from strength to strength. In just over 4 years we have gone from a handful of players to now having over 150 girls registered with the club. We also have around 20 ladies that play on a regular basis and are just starting to enter some competitive matches.

Ladies play on a Tuesday night and welcome players of all ages and abilities.

The girls are running taster sessions in June and July for year 1 girls.
