photo2A great day was held by those who attended on Sunday 31st August when 16 different teams from both clubs played against each other.

Matches were played at Grappenhall's and our venues, with the usual league scoring structure of 3 for a win, 1 for a draw etc.

The first games kicked off at 10am with the day culminating in the much anticipated Coaches' match at 2pm. all games were played in the best of spirits, competitive but respectul.  The full results are detailed at the bottom of this page however, the day resulted in a resounding win for us by 34 points to 9.

Appleton Chairman Jon Uttley was delighted to receive the shield which will now be kept for the year and defended next year.

After the day Jon commented "We are neighbouring clubs who simply play in different leagues and cup competitions and therefore never meet.  The day served as a great pre-season tune up as well as getting to know our neighbours better.

Obviously winning was rather pleasant too!"

This is now planned to be an annual event, taking place on the last Sunday in August, therefore please note down Sunday August 30th 2015 where we hope the event can be bigger with more teams at all ages taking part.
